The Fisheries and Marine Resources Ministry will not comment on prospects of phosphate mining off the Namibian coast until after the completion of all assessment studies. Minister Bernard Esau says the ministry, in line with the Marine Resources Act, is the competent authority when it comes to off-shore mining.
