United Nations member countries, especially superpowers should stop influencing the decisions of the United Nations Security Council if they are serious about the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs. This comment was made by the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon at the start of the 71st General Assembly debates in New York on Tuesday.

President Hage Geingob has urged world leaders to move towards inclusive growth that would create jobs for citizens. Addressing the 71st UN General Assembly underway in New York, Dr Geingob said countries should aim to grow the world economy in a sustainable and inclusive manner to effectively tackle poverty.

The Environment and Tourism Ministry has developed a national strategy for wildlife protection, especially rhinos. Namibia is home to the largest population of more than 91% of black rhinos remaining in Africa.
