US President-elect Donald Trump has released a video, outlining some of the actions that he will implement when he takes office. The moves include withdrawing the United States from the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal, and cancelling some restrictions on energy production.

Katima Mulilo Mayor, Georgina Mwiya-Simataa has appealed to government to relax some regulations governing the transfer of state land, to speed up foreign investment in towns. She says the current system is too cumbersome and scares away investors.

Millions of Haitians have cast their votes in the country’s long-delayed presidential election. The ballot, a re-run of a disputed vote held in 2015, has been repeatedly delayed, most recently because of last month’s Hurricane Matthew.

The report states that in the first six months of 2016, an additional of 1 million people gained access to treatment, bringing it to just over 18 million people on Anti-retroviral treatment.

Emergency response time at the coast is likely to be improved, with the launch of the Karibib Emergency Response Unit. The unit is expected to help road users and residents, in case of fire and road accidents.

The Namibian Police Inspector General has called on the community of Fransfontein to cooperate with the force to reduce criminal activities in the area. Lieutenant General Sebastian Ndeitunga made his plea during the inauguration of a new police station.

The Children of the Liberation Struggle want their case to be handled by the Veterans Affairs Ministry rather than the Ministry of Youth, Sport and National Services as is currently the case. The group marched along Independence Avenue to the office of the vice-president where they handed over their petition.
