The City of Windhoek has cautioned that water usage in and around Windhoek remains excessively high despite a water crisis announcement in 2015. Addressing the media, City of Windhoek Manager of Corporate Communications, Joshua Amukugo said the water-saving target of 40% has not been reached.
About 250 000 Namibians have been lifted out of extreme poverty, according to a Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) report released in November. The NSA says households that allocate less than N$293 dollars per month for food, are classified as extremely poor.
