Namibia’s Finance Minister, Calle Schlettwein has tabled the 2018/19 national budget announcing the introduction of a 10% tax on dividends as a way to increase revenue to fund the deficit. The total budget tabled amounts to N$65-billion.

Some economists welcomed the budget, describing it as a stabilising tool for the Namibian economy.
