President Hage Geingob arrives in Beijing

President Hage Geingob has arrived in Beijing, China, on a seven-day State visit aimed at strengthening trade between the two countries. Geingob is expected to meet his counterpart, Xi Jinping later this evening. The president is accompanied by First Lady Monica Geingos, several Cabinet ministers and local business personalities.

Namibia joins Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research

Namibia joined the Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR) and has become the second country on the continent, after South Africa, to do so. SCOR is an international non-governmental organisation, focusing on promoting international cooperation in planning and conducting oceanographic research while capacity building in developing countries is also supported.
