Seychelles President Danny Faure has arrived at the Hosea Kutako International Airport for the 38th SADC Summit currently underway in Windhoek. Faure was welcomed by International Relations and Cooperations Minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah who is also Namibia’s Deputy Prime Minister. She was accompanied by Fisheries and Marine Minister Bernard Esau and other senior government officials.

Namibians, seem to have heeded the Bank of Namibia’s (BON) call to avoid spending money on unproductive luxury imported goods. The spending of money on unproductive imported goods, puts pressure on the country’s international reserves. The preliminary stock of international reserves now stand at N$32,6 billion, representing an increase of 9,9% on a monthly basis.

Namibian citizens who are deemed financially excluded, have decreased from an estimated portion of 51%, to 22% in 2017. This finding is contained in the just-launched 2017 Namibia Financial Inclusion Survey (NFIS).
