The SADC People’s Summit society wants to be recognised as part of solutions to challenges facing SADC. The group, which congratulated the new SADC Chair President Hage Geingob, also petitioned him. It raised issues they want the Chair and SADC members to resolve.

Newly elected SADC leaders have confrmed their commitment to uphold the values and principles of the regional body. The four presidents of Angola, Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe, all delivered their maiden speeches, assuring the block of their support to its development.
