The Erongo Governor Cleophas Mutjavikua is promoting support for orphanages to decrease the number of children on streets and baby dumping cases. There are about five registered orphanages in Swakopmund and Tears of Hope is one of them. This centre was set up in 2001 and accommodates 23 children with the youngest 10-months old.
