Farmers in the vicinity of eight conservancies in the Kunene Region are unhappy with escalating cases of poaching. Poaching cases have increased drastically after Chief Uzi-ruapi Tjavara allegedly gave permission to about 100 farmers to settle in the area.

The construction of corrugated iron sheet houses for San people at Omundaungilo in the Ohangwena Region has started. The San community at Omundaungilo village have been living in makeshift structures.
