The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) plans to inscribe the OvaHerero Holy Fire and Damara and Nama cultural dances as Intangible Cultural Heritage. The Head of UNESCO, Jean-Pierre Ilboudo revealed this during a meeting with President Hage Geingob at State House.
UNESCO and Shenzhen, a city in southeast China, funded a quality assurance project in capacity building of higher education. The focus of the project is to strengthen quality assurance, recognise tools and mechanisms in higher education in 10 countries, including Namibia.
