Residents of Arandis demonstrated in front of the Swakopmund Magistrate’s Court in protest against the granting of bail for the man accused of killing two senior staff at the Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology (NIMT).

SADC is to report on progress made in terms of integration during the mid-year coordination meeting of the African Union (AU) and the Regional Economic Communities (RECs). The meeting is scheduled to take place in Niger next month. SADC’s Executive Secretary, Dr Stergomena Lawrence Tax met the Regional Chair, President Hage Geingob.

A Namibia Defence Force (NDF) Member, who allegedly shot and killed a taxi driver in Windhoek’s Greenwell Matongo informal settlement, is expected to appear in the Katutura Magistrate’s Court Friday morning.

The Regional Councillor for Sesfontein Constituency, Julius Kaujova, has called for the enactment of the Constituency Development Fund Bill, to ensure development is taken to the communities at the grassroots level.

A bill to regulate electronic communication and transactions has been tabled in the National Assembly. The Electronic Transaction Bill, among others, seeks to recognise electronic transactions in the country.
