The Police in the Zambezi Region deported 136 illegal Zambian immigrants during the first two weeks of Operation Kalahari Desert. The illegal immigrants were arrested during the Operation Kalahari Desert daily patrols. They are mostly employed as farmworkers, while others engage in illegal activities such as drug smuggling.

More than 550 Namibia National Teachers Union (NANTU) delegates are gathered at Katima Mulilo to elect new leadership for the next five years. The gathering will also deliberate on critical issues affecting teachers in Namibia.
