As Namibians prepare for the New Year’s celebrations NBC News reporters took to the streets of Oshakati to gauge residents’ views on how they will enter 2020.

An explosive claimed the life of an Angolan national in the Oshikoto Region on Sunday. The incident took place east of Oshivelo.

No serious crimes were recorded in the Oshana Region during the Christmas period. Four cases of burglary and two cases of suicide were reported in the Oshana Region over Christmas though.

Keetmanshoop Municipality Councillor, Ernst Jash says that the town of Keetmanshoop in the //Kharas Region can be considered as one of the fastest growing towns in Namibia. With an estimated population of about 20 000 inhabitants, Keetmanshoop is ideally located for investment opportunities that range from real estate, retail and hospitality.

The executive manager of the Namibia Agricultural Union (NAU), Roelie Venter has called on commercial farmers to work together to make their undertakings more viable and successful. Venter believes closer cooperation among farmers in 2020 will be the only means to mitigate the effects of the devastating effects of the 2019 drought.
