Namibia joined the rest of the world in marking Engineering Day, aimed at recognising the immense contributions of the profession. 4 March was declared World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
Heavy rains that fell over the south of the country over recent weeks have boosted the dam levels, with most of them having a significant flow of water. The Naute Dam is the third largest dam in Namibia and is located 40 kilometres south of Keetmanshoop in the //Karas Region.

All foreign trained medical graduates who did not complete a pre-internship evaluation programme will undergo an eight-month orientation programme before qualifying for an internship. Health and Social Services Minister, Dr Kalumbi Shangula revealed this orientation programme to the medical graduates in Windhoek.

De Cuellar played a pivotal role in securing an international settlement that led to Namibia’s independence. He was the UN’s fifth Secretary-General between 1982 and 1991, following a long diplomatic career.
