Some homeless people in Swakopmund have expressed concern about a lack of shelters to accommodate them during the COVID-19 lockdown period. They are urging churches to accommodate them for this period until the lockdown is lifted.

Communities under traditional authorities have been called upon to take the outbreak of the deadly COVID-19 seriously. The call was made by the Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Traditional Leaders, who also welcomed a decision to lock down most affected areas.
