Some vendors who are operating outside established open markets are not happy for being excluded from resuming business by the City of Windhoek. These include those with stalls at Havana Informal Settlement. Law enforcement officers informed vendors that they could not trade as they do not have proper marketing structures.

Five companies have been selected to produce 25 000 face masks. The move follows the ban on South African exports as a result of high demand. The face masks will be sold at a cost of between N$15 and N$25.
