92 people were arrested last month for the possession of drugs with a value of more than N$800 000. Of those arrested, 85 are Namibian nationals. Burundian nationals are 4, 1 Nigerian and 2 South African nationals. Drugs seized are cannabis with the highest amount of 63,8kg, followed by mandrax with 225 tablets. NamPol says Namibia has become a drug user nation and the target group are the youth. In a media release the police are calling on everyone to report drug dealers to the law enforcement agencies to prevent the future generation from becoming drug addicts.
