The Motor Vehicle Accident Fund has warned members of the public to be cautious of using people approaching them with forms to lay claims for accidents. The fund says people are making rounds at state hospitals countrywide, approaching people, who had been involved in motor vehicle crashes, and misrepresenting themselves as MVA Fund employees. Its Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Surihe Gaomas-Guchu says these people are selling the fund’s claim forms at a cost of about N$250 per form. Gaomas-Guchu says the fund never sells claim forms. She says instead that the fund assigns case managers at all of its service centres to conduct daily hospital visits and assist people, who had been involved in crashes. The spokesperson says case officers distribute claim forms at hospitals but never sell the forms at all. The fund has warned members of the public not to buy any forms, and to call its Anti-Fraud number: 0811550505, and report anyone selling the forms.
