In a statement issued this afternoon, the Presidency says the remarks by Dr. Geingob should in no way be interpreted as a directive for the rule of law to be flouted. Presidential Press Secretary, Dr Alfredo Hengari, says the President only noted with concern the alarming infighting and suspensions of senior officials without substantive charges, including the CEO of the City of Windhoek and Chief of the City Police. These developments, the statement says, adversely affect service delivery and the important mandate of providing housing for the disadvantaged.
