Learners of Sesheke Senior Secondary School in the Kongola Constituency of the Zambezi Region are in dire need of assistance. Some of the tents were washed away while some were blown away by the wind. This has resulted in the learners losing their food while their clothes were soaked. One of the Grade 12 learners our news team spoke to says the only solution to their suffering is a properly constructed hostel because the school accommodates learners from all over the region. Apart from destroyed tents, the school does not have enough teachers and as a result some subjects have not been taught. Gift Liswaniso is appealing to education partners to assist government in ensuring that the Namibian child is well taken care of. Overcrowding is another problem facing the school, and some teachers can hardly move around in their classrooms. Ivan Lilato, chairperson of the school board says he sympathises with the learners and that for the past two years the school has pleaded for assistance.
