Poaching is still a major concern in Kunene and Omusati regions, despite stiffer jail terms for the accused of these criminal activities. Deputy Minister of Environment and Tourism, Bernadette Jagger raised this concern at the Wildlife Crime Prevention workshop at Otjikoto Nature Reserve in the Otjozondjupa Region.
