President Hage Geingob visited the Kavango Timber Factory, Rundu Abattoir and the Salem Small Scale Horticulture project outside Rundu. The Kavango Timber Factory has been closed for more than a decade and its opening could be a solution to the ongoing timber market impasse. The warehouse that housed the factory was recently cleaned up and equipment installed. Several residents, especially farmers, are pushing for the lifting of a moratorium on timber transportation and marketing.
