A 27-year-old man who was one of the five people involved in a car accident between Otavi and Otjiwarongo on Monday, has succumbed to his injuries in the Otjwarongo State Hospital. The accident happened after the driver of a Quantum minibus lost control as a result of a tyre burst. There were five occupants in the car, including the driver, who sustained serious injuries. Otjozopndjupa Region’s Police Spokesperson Inspector Maureen Mbeha said a case of reckless and negligent driving has been opened against the driver. However, with the death of one of his passengers, the charges have now been changed to culpable homicide.
