An eight-year-old child died in a shack fire in Rundu’s Sikanduko informal settlement. It is alleged that the mother of the fire victim and three other minors left them in their shack when she went to attend a church service. The three children aged 11, eight and six, sustained serious burns and are all admitted to the Rundu State Hospital. The deceased, Regina Kasavi Isoni died as the neighbours struggled to put out the blaze. It is suspected that the fire resulted from the children playing with a candle in the shack.
