The just-concluded Swapo Electoral College, also known as the pot, has elected its 96 members to the next parliament, which includes a mix of experienced politicians, youth and technocrats. What came as surprise this time around is the youthful Pohamba Shifeta, the Minister of Environment and Tourism, garnering the most votes, with what is known as the majority of the Tanganyika group further down the list, The meeting also saw some of the long-serving ministers voted out of the party’s parliamentary list.
