The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) inaugurated the first Vehicle-Grid Integration (VGI) electric car project in Windhoek. The VGI pilot project not only aims to introduce electric vehicles in Namibia but to create flexibility, economic advantages, and opportunities to optimise renewable energy use. Nissan South Africa donated two vehicles installed with VGI at a cost of more than N$200 000.
