The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in September arrested 84 Namibians, two Tanzanians and two Congolese nationals for alleged possession of drugs worth N$334 920. A crime report issued on Monday said cannabis topped the seized list with 18,8 kilogrammes (kg) worth N$187 600, followed by 2,2 kg skunk cannabis valued at N$50 300. The police also confiscated 691 Mandrax tablets worth N$82 920. Among the other drugs that were confiscated are four grams of cocaine powder worth N$2 000 and 121 units of crack cocaine worth N$12 100. The weekend crime incident report said three men aged 23, 24 and 27 were arrested in Khorixas on Friday, after they were allegedly found in possession of skunk cannabis and Mandrax. Three other males aged 18, 24 and 27 years were arrested at Kalkrand for being in possession of 70g and 55g of skunk cannabis along with one parcel of pure cannabis, valued at a total N$7 900. In Kamanjab, a 28-year-old man was arrested on Friday after his house was raided by the police and 30 small parcels of pure cannabis and loose pure cannabis in a black plastic bag were discovered. The weight and value of the cannabis is yet to be determined. On Friday in Windhoek two men aged 34 and 30 were arrested for allegedly dealing in cannabis in Wanaheda while a Nigerian national was arrested at a house in Monte Christo road in Hakahana after he was found in possession of cannabis valued at N$220 000. A 30-year-old man was arrested in Greenwell Matongo informal settlement on Friday after he was found with 30 small parcels of cannabis were seized from him. Five men aged 17, 19, 21, 21 and 28 years were arrested on Friday in Omaruru after they were allegedly found in possession of Mandrax and cannabis valued at N$4 680 during a NamPol raid. Similarly, in Tsumeb, a 32-year-old man was arrested after he was allegedly found in possession of cannabis on Friday at about 19h00 while in Aroab, 25 small parcels of cannabis and Mandrax powder were allegedly found in the possession of three men who were arrested on Sunday around midnight. In Wanaheda a 27-year-old man was arrested after he was found in possession of 66 rocks of crack cocaine on Monday around 03h00. Police investigations in all matters continue. -NAMPA
