Deputy Minister of Industrialisation, Trade and SME Development, Lucia Iipumbu, is urging Namibians to support local artists. “Let us reduce entertainment imports by supporting our local artists” said Ipumbu. Supporting local artists means that Namibians are, by extension, supporting the country’s economy. “By supporting our artists, we are promoting our identity and culture. Let us value that which is ours! Protect and promote local authors and composers of music” she said. The deputy minister was speaking at the 25th anniversary of the Namibian Society of Composer and Authors of Music (NASCAM) which was held on Saturday.
