Franz Gertze (55) chief executive officer (CEO) of the Namibia Qualification Authority (NQA) is in police custody after allegedly shooting his wife several times at their Pioneerspark home late Friday evening. It is alleged that the suspect shot and wounded his wife with a rifle. He allegedly heard intruders in his house and randomly opened fire in their common bedroom. The house was, however, not broken into and the victim was with him. The victim (29) is in a critical condition in a Windhoek hospital where Gertze allegedly drove her after the incident. He allegedly left a suicide note in the house. Another pistol was found in his car and was seized as well. Police investigation continues.
