President Hage Geingob has issued a directive that no requests for travel outside Namibia by Ministers, deputy ministers and other political office bearers will be approved. The president’s directive is effective immediately and will remain in force until the end of February. Last week President Geingob, in an effort to minimise traveling expenditure travelled to the AU Summit of Heads of State in Ethiopia on a scheduled commercial flight. The President has also reduced the size of his delegation when on official trips.
