The police seek the public’s assistance in tracing a witness to a hit-and-run accident which resulted in the death of a 38-year-old man at Long Beach in November 2017. John Robinson died on the B2 road between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund when he was run over by a pick-up, after which two sedans then drove over him. A statement issued by the Namibian Police Force’s Erongo Regional Commander, Commissioner Andreas Nelumbu on Friday said investigations have revealed that a woman in her 20s informed someone that she was in one of the sedans that drove over Robinson. The statement said “sketchy information at hand states that a certain woman in her 20s who is only known as Horases, informed another woman she was travelling with in a taxi after the incident that, when she was in a taxi from Swakopmund that morning, their taxi drove over a man but the driver refused to stop.” Robinson was reportedly looking for a taxi to return to Walvis Bay at around 03h00 when the accident occurred.
