The Minister of Education, Arts and Culture has lashed out at some principals, teachers and education officials who are neglecting their duties and urged them to change their attitude. Katrina Hanse-Himarwa said Government budget cuts have become an excuse for some officials in the education sector, to justify their poor performance in executing their duties. The minister made the remarks when addressing principals and education officials in the Hardap Region recently. Hanse-Himarwa says the mission of her ministry is to provide the best education to the Namibian child. She further added that principals should instil discipline at their schools, to avoid poor performance. Hanse-Himarwa says President Hage Geingob has declared 2018 a year of reckoning, noting that all workers in the Ministry are part of that reckoning.
