President Hage Geingob says Swapo will always be a movement rooted in the destiny of the people. Geingob who is also the party’s president observed this as Swapo celebrates 58th anniversary. Swapo objective was clear, Geingob recalls, when the leaders decided to transform the then Owambo People’s Organisation and rally all Namibians under the ‘One Namibia, one nation’ banner to fight colonial oppression or apartheid. He urged party’ rank and file to plan and work hard to meet the aspirations of Namibians. This calls for intensified efforts against poverty, corruption and inequality. The party’s president warned that prosperity can only be achieved through unity.
