Construction of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration’s building, which started in 2015, is expected to be completed by the end of this year or early 2019. The ministry’s chief public relations officer, Salome Kambala confirmed this to NBC, saying construction is still on schedule and that the country’s financial constraints only caused minimal delays to that project stressing that contractor will meet the set deadline. The building is expected to be opened officially and be operational by 2020. Situated along the Hosea Kutako Avenue, the new office is expected to improve service in the provision of essential documents. The total cost of the building is N$750 million.
