The Namibia Public Passenger Transport Association (NPPTA) is in the process of proposing new taxi fares. Waiting on the approval of their request from the Namibia Transport Advisory Board, the association’s efforts may see taxi fares increased with N$1. About a week ago, the Namibia Transport and Taxi Union (NTTU) demanded that taxi fares be increased by 50% to make up for the past six years of no increment. NPPTA also now wants an increment but by 10%.
