A 20-year-old man was arrested by the police in Rundu for allegedly killing his mother, grandmother and three nephews. NamPol’s regional crime coordinator for Kavango East, Deputy Commissioner Bonifatius Kanyetu, confirmed to Nampa the suspect was tracked down by the police after allegedly committing the gruesome murders. He said the victim’s name could not be released as their next of kin were not informed and the suspect is yet expected to appear in the Magistrate’s Court on Monday. According to an eyewitness, the suspect first assaulted his sister with a log on the head on Saturday, injuring her in the process. He then allegedly used an axe to commit the five murders in the early hours of Sunday.
