Social commentator and activist Paul Helmuth or ‘Uncle Paul’ was buried on Saturday at the Pionierspark Cemetery in Windhoek. Born on 14 February 1929 in Walvis Bay, Uncle Paul gained a reputation for contributing to the call-in programmes of the NBC radio, where he raised and commented on social and political issues of national concern. Uncle Paul is survived by his wife, Ella, six children, five siblings and 10 grandchildren.
