Johnson Johnson has to pay nearly US$4,7 billion, which was awarded by the Los Angeles Superior Court last week. The lawsuit comes after it was discovered that its baby powder or talc product contains a deadly asbestos ingredient linked to ovarian cancer among a number of health issues. In its verdict, the court says the company failed to adequately warn consumers about the cancer risks of its talc-based products.
