An accident near Omaruru left three police officers dead and nine injured on Saturday evening. A police report confirmed that the officers were traveling towards Omaruru from Kalkfeld when the left rear tyre of their Quantum minibus burst. The driver consequently lost control of the car and it overturned, causing the death of one female and two male officers. The rest of the injured officers were taken to the Omaruru State Hospital and hospitals in Windhoek to receive treatment for their injuries. The police officers were returning from Kamanjab in the Kunene Region.
