The Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) has appointed its vice president, Steve Bezuidenhout, as interim president. RDP secretary-general Mike Kavekotora said Bezuidenhout will serve as acting-president until the elective convention is held in November. Kavekotora explained that since the date for the elective convention had already been set, the RDP resolved that there is no need for an extraordinary convention. The Central Committee appointed Bezuidenhout on Saturday, following Jeremiah Nambinga’s resignations as president on Thursday. Nambinga reiterated that he has no intention of forming or joining any political formation.
