President Hage Geingob and his delegation arrived in New York, USA for the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, scheduled to start on Monday. The delegation travelled to New York from Ottawa, Canada where Dr Geingob held bilateral talks with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Trudeau praised the voice of President Geingob on matters of peace and security, gender equality, climate change and inclusive growth. President Geingob described the talks as constructive on his social media pages. He says Namibia and Canada can do more in terms of promoting investment, gender equality and leadership on climate change. President Geingob also acknowledged the role played by Canadian businesses such as B2Gold in Namibia’s economy, especially in the mining sector.
