A 25-year-old man on Monday appeared in the magistrate’s court at Outapi for allegedly stabbing a woman to death last week. Nauyoma Shilomboleni was arrested after the incident at Omatwadiva village in the Omusati Region’s Okalongo Constituency on Thursday and charged with the murder of the 22-year-old Ninive Ndawanapo Shandjanale. Warrant Officer Anna Kunga told Nampa in a telephonic interview Shilomboleni was not granted bail and his case has been postponed to 29 November 2018 to allow for further police investigations. Shilomboleni allegedly killed Shandjanale at Epoko village, also in the Okalongo Constituency. The incident reportedly occurred around 00h20, following an argument between Shilomboleni and Shandjanale. He allegedly stabbed Shandjanale in the neck and she died on the spot. Shikongo said Shilomboleni was employed at Epoko as a builder. He fled the scene after the murder and reportedly went to the house where he stayed to fetch his belongings before disappearing. He was arrested later that day at Omatwadiva, following a tip-off from members of the public.
