A 30-year-old man who was wanted by the police in connection with the rape of a minor, committed suicide by hanging himself at Okatjoto village in the Erongo Region. A crime report issued by the Namibian Police Force’s Erongo Region Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu on Tuesday said the man allegedly raped a six-year-old girl, who was related to him, on Sunday. “He was on the run from the police. His body was discovered by a goat herder around 17h00 on Tuesday,” Iikuyu said. He reportedly hung himself near his residence.
