The Minister of Mines and Energy Tom Alweendo this week announced that the price of fuel will increase for the fifth time this year. The fuel price rise is attributed to a widening depreciation in the exchange rate between the Namibia dollar against the US dollar. The petrol price will go up by 50 cents per litre, while diesel users will folk out 70 cents per litre. This is the fifth time the local fuel price has gone up this year. The year started off well, when Mines and Energy Minister announced in February that fuel prices would remain unchanged. Prices then stood at 11 dollars 70 cents per liter on unleaded petrol, and 11 dollars 78 cents for diesel. But, since June fuel prices have continued to increase on a monthly basis
