A 24-year-old police constable stationed at Rehoboth Police Station was on Monday arrested on duty for possession of three cannabis cigarettes and one mandrax tablet with a combined value of N$150. Namibian Police Force’s Crime Investigations Coordinator for the Hardap Region, Deputy Commissioner Eric Clay told Nampa on Wednesday the officer was arrested at about 21h45. “A member of the force was caught with the drugs after a body search was conducted on him when he reported for duty after a tip-off was received,” Clay said. The drugs were confiscated. Investigations into the matter continue.
