Community members of the Eiseb Block in the Omaheke Region have petitioned the Minister of Urban and Rural Development demanding for the immediate rescission of the recognition of Ombara Turimuro Hoveka of the Hoveka Traditional Authority. The residents, who gathered at Government Office Park on Tuesday brandished posters saying the Hoveka royal house is unknown to them and that leaders should not be imposed on them without consultation. The group says Eiseb Block is within the jurisdiction of Ombara Kilus Nguvauva and cannot be under Hoveka. The group handed over a petition with over 270 signatures from the members of the Eiseb Block community. The petition was received by advisor to the Minister of Urban and Rural Development, Philip Tjerije.
