A major transport operator at the coast says the worldwide demand for copper has had a positive impact on business. Andre van der Walt specialises in long haul transportation within the SADC region and ferries copper from Zambia’s copper belt to the Walvis Bay port for worldwide export. Van der Walt Transport started business in the early 90s transporting fish from Walvis Bay to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
