Hundreds of Ovaherero and Ovambanderu gathered some 12km north of Kalkveld to commemorate their unsung Hero Mureti Kaupangua. Elders continue to play a crucial role as repositories of oral history in their communities. They are considered living libraries and as such have an obligation to teach and transmit history to the younger generation. This was the call during the commemoration of Otjikaoko Hero, Mureti wa Kaupangua at Otjipaue in Otjozondjupa Region recently.
