The TransNamib board has suspended Executive of Strategy and Stakeholder Management Hippy Tjivikua and property executive Struggle Ihuhua, with immediate effect. In a memo to staff, the board says the suspensions were necessitated to enable to company to conduct an unhindered investigation into the allegations leveled against the two senior managers. Hippy Tjivikua served as acting CEO of the parastatal for almost three years following the suspension of Sara Naanda in 2014, During that period, Ihuhua also acted as Executive Spokesperson of TransNamib. Unconfirmed media reports had it that the TransNamib board of directors had resolved to get rid of all eight senior executives by the end of this year to clean up the organisation. Over the years, TransNamib has been tainted with allegations of widespread corruption and questionable business deals.
